Ukrainian FPV drones managed to hit Russian supply trucks after performing an unusual 60-kilometer flight, according to the Ukrainian Army.
The operation was conducted by operators from the Ivan Franko Group and garnered attention for surpassing the usual range limitations of this type of equipment.
The strike took place near the so-called “Republic of the Bridge,” an area close to Donetsk Airport that, according to reports, is being used by Russian troops for logistical movement. To reach the target, drones equipped with 8-inch and 10-inch frames, provided by volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, were used.
To enable this long-range strike, the military reportedly used signal repeaters capable of maintaining stable video transmission and drone control over dozens of kilometers. This technique, which also involves the use of auxiliary drones with antennas to reinforce communication, had previously allowed FPV drones to reach up to 20 kilometers in 2024 to attack Russian artillery positions.
